Georg Fechner has been working as an attorney since 1996. Having worked for 15 years with German IP and media boutique Unverzagt von Have, he founded his own law firm in 2011. He is a specialist lawyer (Fachanwalt) for intellectual property law.
He studied law in Freiburg, in Hamburg and as an Erasmus scholar in Bordeaux, where he graduated as a Maître en Droit (Master of Law) in 1992. He graduated from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich in 1994 for his German law degree.
The focus of his work relates to questions of advertising, the design of protection strategies for trademark and design rights, copyright, other intellectual property rights as well as press law.
He advises leading advertising agencies and advertisers, publishers, artists and – pro bono – a major nature conservation organisation.
Georg teaches press law at the Institute of Communications (Akademie für Publizistik, AfP) and regularly speaks on matters of advertising law and intellectual property law before the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. He has authored numerous publications on his areas of expertise in books, magazines and newspapers.
